Sun and Moon Custom Necklaces

Handcrafted for sisters, our Sun and Moon necklaces pair complementary metals and gemstones to celebrate connection and contrast. Each pendant is wire wrapped by hand around a heart‑shaped yellow chalcedony, finished with delicate droplet stones and hung on a matching plated chain. These pieces are made to be worn every day and treasured for years.

Designer’s Perspective

Designing the Sun and Moon necklaces was pure delight — like making tiny, wearable inside jokes for sisters. I wanted each piece to feel like its own little personality: the Sun is bright and bold, the Moon is cool and quietly confident, and both share the same heart‑shaped yellow chalcedony so they always read as a pair.

I had fun letting the wire do the talking. Each hand‑wrapped loop and twist is a tiny fingerprint from the studio, so no two wraps are exactly the same — just like siblings who finish each other’s sentences but still march to their own drum. Adding garnet droplets to the Sun and ruby droplets to the Moon felt cheeky and perfect; saying “garnet sun and ruby moon" out loud made me smile every time I clipped them on.

Instead of a lobster clasp, I gave these necklaces toggles so they sit exactly where they should and letting the initial charm catch the light and steal the show, just like each sister does in her own way. The result is playful, balanced, and a little bit magical: two necklaces that celebrate sameness and difference at the same time.

Materials  

• Center stone: heart‑shaped yellow chalcedony.  

• Sun finish: gold‑plated wire and matching gold‑plated chain; garnet droplet accents.  

• Moon finish: silver‑plated wire and matching silver‑plated chain; ruby droplet accents.

Each necklace is wire wrapped by hand. The chalcedony is secured with multiple wraps for durability and finished with neat, polished ends so the piece sits comfortably against the skin. Droplet stones are attached with secure loops to move freely without snagging. Small‑batch construction ensures attention to detail on every piece.
