Who we are
Stubborn Sloths, where creativity meets craftsmanship, and ordinary just isn’t an option. Founded by Samantha Vanat, this woman-owned studio is all about bringing your imagination to life through hand-engraved glassware, custom jewelry (even earrings for gauged ears!), functional resin artwork and designs that stand out.
We believe in this simple truth: Be Stubborn About YOU! Whether you’re looking for a bold statement piece, a heartfelt gift, or something that’s as one-of-a-kind as you are, we’ve got you covered!
Meet the Makers:
Sam!
Sam is an FFA alumni (Class of 2012, Bucks County, PA) and a current New Mexico State University student pursuing a Bachelor’s in Social Work, but her artistic roots run even deeper. She learned the art of design from her late grandmother and learned the art of stubborn expression from her mom. Sam continues to be inspired by her special needs sister and toddler, whose unique spirits fuel Stubborn Sloths' passion for self-expression and inclusivity.
Mary!
Mary is the hands‑on heart and witchy magic behind Borderland Tinkerers. A seamstress, resin artist, stained‑glass maker, and chicken wrangler, she brings a maker’s curiosity to everything she touches.
Her work is defined by careful pouring, sturdy stitches, and intentional processes—small rituals that turn materials into keepsakes. Whether she’s wire‑wrapping a charm, casting resin, or coaxing a pattern into fabric, Mary treats each piece like a story to be told.
Bold, practical, and a little bit mischievous, Mary builds things that last and moments that matter.
